The tripod attachment can be attached to the dowel using two #8x1 screws. The hole for the vertical dowel goes all the way through the attachment, so you can position it wherever you want on the dowel. Each leg can be secured to the attachment with screws as well, although it's not entirely necessary. When using screws, make sure you pre-drill using an 1/8" drill bit. Choose between a 3 or 4 legged tripod for your plant stand.
